Sugar May
Sugar May is a multi-media fetish artist with a background in the film, TV, and media industry. With over 13 years of experience, she has been featured in numerous productions such as Netflix’s “Sex Education” and “The One,” as well as independent films and documentaries. Sugar May specializes in creating kinky, queer, and playful pinup illustrations and comics in a 1940s style. She mostly works on a private commission basis, but has also been featured in Vintage Flaneur Magazine and Pinup Lifestyle Magazine, and is a member of the Queer Comics Database.
Sugar May’s style focuses on idealized mid-century domesticity and uses trans-media storytelling to explore modern BDSM power dynamics through vintage pastiche. In her art, she is often depicted holding a mixing bowl and wooden spoon while wearing a red dress and with black hair styled in 1940s victory rolls and a red bow. She uses transgressive humor to explore the Dom/Sub dynamic and challenges traditional BDSM tropes by presenting a highly feminine aesthetic. Sugar May is also interested in the concept of the “pervertable,” which refers to everyday items or experiences that are deliberately and delightfully defiled.
Through sex-positive and provocative character-driven role-play, Sugar May aims to shift the biased and sensationalized narrative around kink and enable creative, personal, and empowered sex play.
Linda Miller is thrilled to be working with Sugar May to further promote the Divaurae brand. She has always been a fan of Sugar May’s unique and playful approach to BDSM and is excited to see how their collaboration will bring new depth and dimension to the Divaurae brand. Linda can’t wait to see what creative ideas Sugar May brings to the table and is confident that their partnership will result in some truly memorable and impactful content. She is looking forward to diving into the project with Sugar May and seeing what they can accomplish together.
